Title : Education Officer

Duty Station : Lucknow

Duration : One year, with further extension based on performance

Purpose of the post:Under the overall supervision of Education Specialist of the Field Office provides support to the State Government for planning, implementation and monitoring of education programmes, with a special focus on children and women from disadvantaged groups of the community, through innovative, systematic programming and advocacy, in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

Minimum Requirements:„« University degree in Social Sciences, Education or Social work or Sociology

At least 2-3 years experience at the national/state level in education or social development programmes.

Experience working with national/state government involved in education desirable.

« Fluency in English and knowledge of Hindi.

« Communication skills to advocate, negotiating and promote UNICEF's concerns, training skills, and ability to plan and organize.

« Ability to draft clearly and concisely in English

« Ability to research, analyze, evaluate and synthesize information

« Knowledge and use of standard office automation applications related to word processing, graphics presentations etc. as well as Management Information Systems and databases. Knowledge and training on use of work planning tools an asset.

« Ability to work in an international and multicultural environment

« Current knowledge of development issues, policies, as well as social programming policies and procedures in international development cooperation.
